I happened upon this programme by accident as whilst enjoying The Office and Extras I'd become a little bored of Ricky Gervaises Hollywood offerings.

I'd never heard of Karl Pilkington, but within minutes of watching the first episode I was crying with laughter. Karl's view of the world is so honest and uneffected that he says what the rest of us are thinking most of the time.

Pure genius - a travel programme that doesn't take itself seriously, is funny yet still hits the emotional buttons in each of the episodes I've watched so far. From a travel perspective he stays in places that your average tourists wouldn't stay in and whilst not necessarily enjoying the experience Karl makes an effort to immerse himself in the local culture.

He is full of wisdom - and totally without the BS I see in so many other travel programmes Karl - you are a star! Details Edit. Release date September 5, United Kingdom.

It's not all bad, it is enjoyable and there are some brilliant moments in it. I didn't think they pushed the whole Marco Polo theme too well, there was only a few moments that described his journey. Overall, it sadly didn't feel like karl Pilkington does an idiot abroad, more like two people see a few sites. Just My Opinion though, you might enjoy it more than me. One person found this helpful. Love this season of an idiot abroad.

It never fails to make me laugh even though I have watched it times. The price of this season is the same price of the other seasons which I find almost offensive when you only get half of what the other seasons provide. Being a big fan of this series I was very excited when my copy of Season 3 arrived and for the whole part was not dissapointed once I had watched it.

It follows a similar route that the first two had taken but this time had added a bit of company for the Idiot Abroad. Warrick I must say is a stroke of genius by Ricky, the two guys clash in so many ways it really had me in utter stiches at times as well as breathing a little bit of freshness to the series.

My problem with the series 3 is that for me it lacked Stephens edge, the whole of series 3 only added in to 3 episodes when if you were to consider the journey they take could have easily been expanded by another 3 episodes.

Instead the resulting episodes felt rushed when it came in to editing, you can almost feel Ricky getting too excited and causing all the post production guys to rush the result so he can release the show. I take it as Stephen is required as he would have added a bit more class to the production and calmed Ricky down when Ricky gets all over excited.

The series just lacks that little bit extra thought. In the end if you liked the first 2 seasons you will like the 3rd as well, there were some proper pieces of comedic genius in there. The addition of Warwick Davis injected a humour that was different, Karl does manage the trips much better on his own, however Warwick Davis is a joy to watch with Karl, very enjoyable, but shorter in content parden the pun!

No Stephen Merchant, limited extras, one disc, it appears to be a rushed edition Ricky you had the winning formula why try a change, I really loved this disc but I still say the previous r3elerases were much better, maybe we are getting use to Karl, keep the trips rolling Ricky, most of these reviews state the lack of the first two, however its a good buy.

I laughed the most this Season. That being said there are several things bugging me. Watched that in one evening, great. Way too few. It's just so random. There is no development. Where are fights, discussions, happy things. There is just no character development. Yeah sure it's real tv bla bla bla. Well you can still make a good show. Those two are pure gold, each season I am asking for more Karl alone in the other two had the same issues.

It's too little supervised. If you would just 'script' it a little bit it could be worlds better. And I am not saying the things they say need scripting, just the flow and events they are doing, it just feels so randomly put together.

I dunno, hard to describe. Just saying tons of potential goes down the drain here. Failed to live up to the expectations of vol 1 and 2. Only reason why I didn't give this 5 stars was because this series only contained 3 episodes, so it is basically a mini series, but still funny nonetheless. Pleased with the first two series but this now seems to be struggling.
